SETTING OPTIONS IN WORD

To set the options that control how Word works, click on the Tools drop-down menu and choose Options.  You will see the window below:

This window contains the General Word options. Most of the features within this window are to enable users who have previously used Corel's WordPerfect to set up Word to look more like WordPerfect, e.g. white text on blue background and similar help and navigation features. You can also set the measurement units which Word uses, you might want to do this if you are used to setting your margins in inches rather than centimetres.

The Web Options and E-mail Options buttons take you to windows where you can set the way in which Word creates web pages if you save documents as HTML files and can set your signature and stationary options when creating e-mails.

To see how to set your options and an explanation of the effects they have, click on the appropriate tab at the top of this image.  eg if you want to see how to set the View options, click on View tab above.
