Archiving

If you are using a stand-alone computer it is probably not a concern to you if your mailbox becomes very large but if you are using your company's Exchange Server you will normally be allocated a certain amount of space, once your mailbox has reached this size you will start receiving messages that your mailbox has reached its size limit.  If you do not know about archiving you will probably be forced to delete loads of e-mails at this point, archiving allows you to move your e-mails off the Exchange Server but still keeps them within the Outlook folder structure.
