Shrinking Cell Contents

If you do not want to change your column width or row height to make it wider then the ‘shrink to fit’ function may help you.  If you have not wrapped your text in a cell then you can click on the Format drop-down menu and choose Cells  and enter a tick in the ‘Shrink to fit ’ box on the Alignment section of the window show below .  The size of the font will be reduced to make the contents fit the cell.  However, it is not always a good idea to do this as it may make your cell contents so small that they are illegible and your worksheet would probably look better if the text wrapped onto more than one line if the cell contains more than one word.
