Using Currency Symbols in Custom Formats
To display a number as currency just
enter the relevant currency symbol in the appropriate place in your number
format, e.g. £#.## or #.0 pence.
If you cannot get a currency symbol
on your keyboard you can turn on
NUM LOCK and use the numeric keypad while
holding down the ALT key to enter the ANSI code for the symbol.
||Hold down ALT and type this code
It is also
possible to get the Euro sign by pressing the
Alt Gr key and the number
formats are saved with the workbook. To have Microsoft Excel always use a
specific currency symbol, change the currency symbol selected in Regional
Settings in Control Panel before you start Excel.
