Copying only Visible Cells

If you have hidden rows or columns and then copy the range containing the hidden details you will find that the hidden data is copied as well (although only values, not formulas, will be copied), this also happens with features such as grouping and subtotals where data can be expanded and collapsed to only show the summary items. You will also find that hidden details are copied even if you have protected the worksheet. In order to copy only the visible details, you need to click on the Edit drop-down menu and choose Go To (or press CTRL and G together).

Click on the Special button at the bottom of the window and a window appears as shown below.

Select the Visible cells only bullet and click OK, you can now perform your copy function and only the visible cells will be copied.  When you paste the copied cells they will be placed next to each other as they appear when the rows/columns are hidden or the outline is collapsed.
